Grapefruit, lemon and mint over pink pepper. Ginger, jasmine and nutmeg at the heart. Cedar, sandalwood, patchouli and labdanum in the base, at 25% eau de parfum concentration.

The short answer

The best Blue de Chanel clone on note accuracy is Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic, which reproduces 12 of the 15 notes Chanel publishes for Bleu de Chanel. Our own Snow reaches 11 of 15 at ₹799, which is roughly one seventh of Armaf's list price in India. The two bottles most often recommended online, Zara Navy Black and Afnan Supremacy Silver, match 3 and 2 notes respectively. Afnan Supremacy Silver is an Aventus clone, not a Bleu de Chanel one.

Six things this comparison found

  1. A competitor beat us on note accuracy and we are publishing it anyway. Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic matches 12 of 15 published Bleu de Chanel notes. Snow matches 11. Where we win is price, not chemistry.
  2. Afnan Supremacy Silver is not a Bleu de Chanel clone. Basenotes lists it on apple, bergamot, blackcurrant, pineapple, rose, birch and oakmoss. That is the Creed Aventus profile. It shares two notes with Bleu de Chanel.
  3. Zara Navy Black shares three notes. Zara publishes nectarine, bergamot, grapefruit, sage, coffee, vetiver, amber and patchouli. Coffee and sage appear nowhere in Bleu de Chanel.
  4. Bella Vita does not currently make a Bleu de Chanel clone. Their men's range runs to CEO Man and White Oud, neither of which targets this profile.
  5. Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif is real and sold in India at ₹23,950 for 100 ml on Nykaa. It is a fourth concentration above the Parfum, not a myth invented by dupe lists.
  6. We cannot give you a per-millilitre figure for our own bottle, because our product page does not currently publish its volume. That is our gap, and we are saying so rather than inventing a number.

What is actually in Bleu de Chanel?

Chanel's own product copy is deliberately vague. It describes Bleu de Chanel as citrus freshness, an aromatic accord, cedar and New Caledonian sandalwood, and credits Olivier Polge as the house perfumer for the current line. That is four ingredients, not a formula.

The fuller published note list, as recorded on the Bleu de Chanel reference entry for the 2010 eau de toilette composed by Jacques Polge, runs to fifteen materials: lemon, mint, pink pepper, grapefruit, ginger, Iso E Super, nutmeg, jasmine, labdanum, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, incense, cedar and white musk. Those fifteen are the reference accord every bottle below is scored against.

One note deserves a flag. Iso E Super is a synthetic woody-amber molecule, not a botanical, and it does a large share of the work in how Bleu de Chanel projects. Almost no budget house lists it, which is why several clones smell close on paper and thin in the air.

Which bottle is the best Blue de Chanel clone, note by note?

Scored against Chanel's fifteen published notes, Armaf reproduces twelve, Snow eleven, Zara three and Afnan two. Every note below is taken from the maker's own published listing, not from a reseller. A bottle scores a match only when the brand names the same material, and that method produced one result we did not want.

Is the bleu de chanel dupe Armaf makes the most accurate?

Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic reproduces 12 of the 15 published Bleu de Chanel notes, more than any other bottle here including our own. Armaf publishes grapefruit, lemon, mint, pink pepper and coriander on top, ginger, nutmeg, jasmine and melon at the heart, then incense, amber, cedar, sandalwood, patchouli, labdanum and woody notes in the base.

The three it misses are Iso E Super, vetiver and white musk. It adds coriander and melon, which Bleu de Chanel does not carry. On skin that reads slightly sweeter and slightly greener than the Chanel, but the shape is unmistakably the same.

We could have quietly left Armaf out of this comparison. Publishing a note-match table that puts a competitor above our own bottle is not the obvious commercial move. It is the honest one, and a comparison you cannot check is worth nothing.

Should you buy the Armaf or the cheaper bottle?

Armaf costs roughly seven times more than Snow for one additional note out of fifteen. Armaf's Indian site lists the 105 ml eau de parfum at ₹5,737 against our ₹799. Street prices through marketplace sellers run well below the list figure, so check before you buy. Even heavily discounted, the gap stays wide enough that the twelfth note is an expensive one.

That is the whole trade in one line. Armaf buys you closer chemistry. We buy you the same profile at a price you can wear on a Tuesday without thinking about it.

Which you should buy. If note-for-note accuracy is the only thing you care about and budget is not a constraint, buy the Armaf. It is the closest bleu de chanel inspired perfume on the Indian market and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

If you want the same profile for daily wear at a price that does not make you count sprays, that is the case for ours.

Is the bleu de chanel dupe Zara sells actually close?

Zara Navy Black shares three notes with Bleu de Chanel and is not a clone. Zara publishes nectarine, bergamot and grapefruit on top, sage and coffee at the heart, then vetiver, amber and patchouli in the base, and files it as an aromatic woody fragrance. Grapefruit, vetiver and patchouli are the three that overlap.

Coffee is the giveaway. There is no coffee note anywhere in Bleu de Chanel, and it is not a background material, it drives the middle of Navy Black. Anyone buying Navy Black expecting the Chanel will notice within twenty minutes.

None of that makes it a bad bottle. At ₹1,350 for 100 ml eau de toilette it is fair value for what it is. It is simply a different fragrance that got attached to the Bleu de Chanel search term and stayed there.

Does Afnan make a bleu de chanel clone at all?

Afnan Supremacy Silver, the bottle most often named in this search, is a Creed Aventus clone. Basenotes lists it on apple, bergamot, blackcurrant and pineapple over rose, birch, jasmine and patchouli, finishing on oakmoss, musk, ambergris and vanilla. Pineapple and birch are the Aventus signature. Reviewers there describe it as an Aventus twin, not a Bleu de Chanel one.

Against our fifteen-note reference it matches jasmine and patchouli. Two. If you searched for an Afnan Bleu de Chanel clone and landed on Supremacy Silver, you were pointed at the wrong shelf.

Afnan's closest thing to this profile is Turathi Blue, described by retailers as a fresh citrus and aquatic opening with a woody musk drydown. Afnan does not publish a full note list for it, so we cannot score it here, and we are not going to estimate one.

Is there a bleu de chanel clone Bella Vita sells?

No. Bella Vita does not currently market a Bleu de Chanel targeted fragrance. Their men's and unisex range centres on CEO Man, an aromatic fougere on lemon, sugar, lavender, vetiver, moss and tonka, and White Oud, which is built on oud and tobacco. Neither is aiming at the citrus, ginger and sandalwood structure that defines Bleu de Chanel.

This keyword exists because Bella Vita is one of the most searched budget fragrance brands in India, so shoppers attach the name to every designer scent they are hunting. The honest answer is that the clone does not exist, rather than steering you toward the nearest thing in their catalogue and hoping you do not notice the difference.

If you already own CEO Man and liked it, the note you are responding to is probably the lavender and vetiver, which puts you closer to the Dior Sauvage family than to Bleu de Chanel. Those are two different fresh profiles that get confused constantly, and knowing which one you actually like will save you money on your next bottle.

EDT, EDP, Parfum and L'Exclusif: which one are you cloning?

Chanel sells four Bleu de Chanel concentrations, and most clone lists never say which one they are matching. That matters, because the four are meaningfully different in weight and drydown.

ConcentrationLaunchedPerfumerIndia price, 100 ml
Eau de Toilette2010Jacques PolgeVaries by retailer
Eau de Parfum2014Jacques Polge₹13,800 on Nykaa
Parfum2018Olivier PolgeVaries by retailer
L'ExclusifCurrent lineOlivier Polge₹23,950 on Nykaa

Every bottle in this comparison, ours included, is built against the eau de toilette accord, because that is the only version with a fully published note list. A bottle sold to you as a best Bleu de Chanel exclusif clone is almost certainly matched to the EDT and relabelled, since L'Exclusif has no public formula to work from.

If you want the L'Exclusif specifically, the honest position is that no budget bottle currently reproduces it, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing.

Where Snow overlaps with the Chanel accord, and where it does not.

What is the best Bleu de Chanel alternative India actually stocks?

Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum is ₹13,800 for 100 ml on Nykaa, which is ₹138 per millilitre. L'Exclusif is ₹23,950, or ₹239.50 per millilitre. Those are the numbers that send people looking for a bleu de chanel alternative India can actually afford.

What we can state is the concentration. Snow is blended at 25% fragrance oil, which sits at the top of the eau de parfum band. Zara Navy Black is an eau de toilette, typically 5 to 10%. Armaf and Afnan publish no percentage at all. That number decides whether a scent is still on your collar at 7 pm in Indian heat.

We are not claiming the unlabelled bottles are weak. We are pointing out that you cannot know, and that a brand choosing not to publish the number is itself a piece of information worth pricing in.

Which of these brands publishes its oil percentage?

Only one of the five does, and it is ours. Snow states 25% on its product page. Zara labels Navy Black an eau de toilette without naming a figure. Armaf and Afnan both call their bottles eau de parfum and stop there, which covers anything from 15% to 25% and tells you nothing useful about how long either will last.

Reference bands: body spray about 3%, eau de toilette 5 to 10%, eau de parfum 15 to 25%. Only Sense publishes a figure. Checked August 2026.

Why can we not quote a per-ml price for our own bottle?

Because our product page does not currently publish the bottle volume, and we would rather say so than invent a number. Every other figure in this article is per millilitre. Ours cannot be, and pretending otherwise would undo the point of the whole comparison.

Here is the position in full. The Snow listing states price, concentration and a complete note pyramid, but not the volume, which means no honest per-millilitre figure can be calculated for it. We have flagged it internally and it will be corrected. Until it is, treat our ₹799 as a bottle price and compare on note match and concentration rather than on rupees per ml.

How do you pick a Bleu de Chanel clone without guessing?

Three published numbers decide it: the note list, the concentration percentage and the volume. If a listing is missing any of the three, you are buying on marketing copy. Our own listing is currently missing one of them, which is why we said so above rather than hoping you would not check.

1. Trace the note list back to the maker

Resellers copy note data between listings and errors spread. Two of the five bottles on this page are described very differently by their own brands than by the dupe lists recommending them. Every note in this article came from the brand's own page or a cited reference entry.

2. Look for a stated oil percentage

Eau de toilette usually sits between 5 and 10%, eau de parfum between 15 and 25%. A brand that will not name its percentage is telling you something. We publish 25% because in Indore summer it is the number that matters.

3. Ask which concentration is being cloned

EDT, EDP, Parfum and L'Exclusif are four different fragrances sharing a name. A clone matched to the EDT will not give you the Parfum drydown, and no honest seller will claim it does.

4. Sample before you commit

This applies to us as much as to anyone. Iso E Super and its substitutes are anosmic to some people, meaning a percentage of readers will simply not register a large part of this scent. If you can buy small first, do.

Frequently asked questions

The questions people ask most

What is the best dupe for Bleu de Chanel Parfum?

No budget bottle currently clones the Parfum specifically, because Chanel does not publish a full note list for it. Every clone on the market, including ours, is matched to the 2010 eau de toilette accord. Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic gets closest to that accord at 12 of 15 notes, and Snow by Sense reaches 11 at ₹799.

What is the exclusive clone of Bleu de Chanel?

Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif is a real fourth concentration, sold in India at ₹23,950 for 100 ml on Nykaa, above the EDT, EDP and Parfum. No budget bottle reproduces it, because Chanel publishes no formula for it. Anything sold as an exclusif clone is an EDT match under a different label.

Is there a dupe for Bleu de Chanel in India?

Yes, several. Armaf Club de Nuit Blue Iconic is the closest on note accuracy at 12 of 15 and lists at ₹5,737 for 105 ml. Snow by Sense reaches 11 of 15 at ₹799 and is blended in Indore, so it carries no import cost. Zara Navy Black at ₹1,350 shares only three notes despite frequently appearing on dupe lists.

Which clone perfume brand is best?

It depends on what you are optimising for. Armaf is the most accurate across a wide range of designer profiles but sits at import prices. Lattafa is strong on ambers and weak on fresh citrus. Zara is inexpensive and inconsistent. We build ours in India at 25% concentration, which is why we can hold ₹799 without cutting the oil load.

On notes and how it smells

What does the best Bleu de Chanel clone smell like?

Bright and slightly bitter for the first half hour, from grapefruit, lemon and mint lifted by pink pepper. It settles into a warm, dry, faintly spicy middle of ginger and nutmeg, then finishes on cedar, sandalwood and patchouli. Clean rather than sweet, which is why it works for office wear.

How many notes does Bleu de Chanel actually have?

Fifteen materials appear in the published note list for the 2010 eau de toilette: lemon, mint, pink pepper, grapefruit, ginger, Iso E Super, nutmeg, jasmine, labdanum, sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, incense, cedar and white musk. Chanel's own marketing copy names only four of them.

What is Iso E Super and why does it matter?

Iso E Super is a synthetic woody-amber molecule that gives Bleu de Chanel much of its projection and its smooth, slightly abstract drydown. Almost no budget house lists it. It is the main reason a clone can match on paper and still smell thinner in the air than the original.

Why do clones smell right at first and wrong after an hour?

Top notes are cheap and easy to reproduce. Citrus and pepper cost little and evaporate within thirty minutes. The base materials that decide the last six hours, particularly sandalwood and quality musks, are where budget formulas cut. Judge any clone at hour four, not at first spray.

Buying and price

Is there a good Bleu de Chanel clone under 1000 rupees?

Snow by Sense at ₹799 is the only bottle in this comparison under ₹1,000, and it matches 11 of the 15 published notes at 25% eau de parfum concentration. Zara Navy Black is the next cheapest at ₹1,350 and matches three. Below ₹500 you are generally looking at body sprays rather than eau de parfum.

How much does real Bleu de Chanel cost in India?

Bleu de Chanel Eau de Parfum is ₹13,800 for 100 ml on Nykaa, which works out to ₹138 per millilitre. L'Exclusif is ₹23,950 for 100 ml. Prices vary between authorised retailers and grey-market sellers, so buy from a seller who accepts returns.

Is a Bleu de Chanel clone EDP better than an EDT?

Usually yes for longevity. Eau de parfum typically carries 15 to 25% fragrance oil against 5 to 10% for eau de toilette, so it lasts longer and projects harder. The trade-off is that a higher concentration also amplifies any cheap material in the base, so a poorly blended EDP can be worse than a good EDT.

Are clone perfumes legal to sell in India?

Yes, provided they do not copy the original's name, bottle design or packaging. Fragrance formulas cannot be patented, so an inspired-by scent is lawful. What is not lawful is counterfeiting, meaning a bottle presented as the genuine Chanel. Every honest inspired-by brand states clearly that it is not the original.

Are these clones safe to use on skin?

Alcohol-based fragrances from established sellers are formulated to the same IFRA ingredient limits regardless of price. The real risks are counterfeit stock and unsealed bottles. Buy from the brand's own site or a marketplace seller with a return policy, and patch test on your inner arm if your skin is sensitive.

Wearing it

Can I wear a Bleu de Chanel clone to the office every day?

Yes, and this profile is one of the easiest for daily wear because citrus and cedar read clean in air conditioning rather than heavy. Two sprays is enough at 25% concentration. If you are in a small shared cabin, spray on the chest under a shirt rather than on the neck.

How long should a Bleu de Chanel clone last in Indian weather?

Snow is blended for 8 to 12 hours on skin. Humidity shortens the fresh top notes and heat accelerates the whole curve, so expect the citrus opening to disappear faster in Chennai in July than in Delhi in December. Spraying onto clothing rather than skin extends the trail considerably.

Which season suits this fragrance best?

It is a genuine all-rounder, which is part of why the original sells so well. The citrus and mint keep it wearable through Indian summer, while the cedar, sandalwood and labdanum base gives it enough weight for winter evenings. If you own one fragrance, a Bleu de Chanel profile is a defensible choice.

Where should I spray it for the longest wear?

Pulse points hold heat and push the scent outward, so the base of the neck, inner wrists and chest work best. Do not rub your wrists together, which crushes the top notes. One spray onto a shirt collar will typically outlast anything applied to skin by several hours.
